The short version
Ask 831 only uses the information you send us by text to reply to your request. We don’t sell your phone number. We don’t share what you text us with anyone outside the small team that answers messages.
What we collect
- The phone number you text from.
- The content of the message you send us.
- Timestamps and delivery status from our SMS provider.
How we use it
We use this information to send you a reply with local recommendations, and to keep a short history so that if you text us again we can do a better job.
What we don’t do
- We don’t add you to a marketing list.
- We don’t send recurring promotional texts unless you separately opt in.
- We don’t sell your number to third parties.
Who can see your messages
Messages can be read by the small Ask 831 team that answers texts and by our SMS provider (which transmits them on our behalf).
SMS opt-in data and consent information are not shared with anyone except our SMS provider; this category is excluded from any other data sharing described in this policy.
Your choices
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages.
- Email hello@ask831.com to ask us to delete what we have for your number.
Changes
We may update this policy. We’ll change the “Last updated” date when we do.
