What Ask 831 is

Ask 831 is a request-based SMS service for Santa Cruz, California. When you text our number with a question, a human replies with up to three local recommendations.

What you’re agreeing to when you text us

By texting Ask 831, you agree to receive reply texts about your request. These reply texts are transactional — they are sent in response to a message you sent us.

We do not send recurring promotional texts unless you separately opt in later through a clearly labeled signup.

Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies based on your requests. Msg & data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Ask 831 does not charge you for texting us.

How to stop or get help

  • Reply STOP to any Ask 831 message to opt out of further messages from that number.
  • Reply HELP to receive contact information.

Carriers and delivery

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed.
